AASA- what we are about:
Reading of mission statement.
The Trinity College Asian American Student Association is a student organization
that promotes education, awareness, and appreciation for Asian & Asian American
cultures in attempt to understand issues concerning the Asian/Asian-American
identity and experience, and its place in both American and global societies.
These goals are achieved through educational and social programming provided by
the organization in addition to resources available from the college.
AASA is not an exclusive organization by any means. Open to the entire Trinity
College community, we hold meetings on a weekly basis, and host a number of
events and activities throughout the year.
Annual events--Welcome Back Dinner, Diwali, Chinese New Year, Campus-wide Party
in Vernon Social Center, CHAI house, conferences (FIND, &ammp; others),
discussions & events @ house (study breaks, movies, hanging out, etc).
Most importantly, we are a family offering support, advice, familiarity and
friendship. We are here for you. Tell us what you want to see happen.
AASA- Your Visions / Q&A:
Suggestion/Question period.
What are AASA's affiliations with other groups?
-One of AASA's goals this year is to work on connections with other Asian
student groups on other campuses and the community in general, and also to
become even more involved with other groups at Trinity. So far, we are scheduled
to work with The Asian Studies Department, La Voz Latina, EROS, and Hillel.
