An evening of shanties and songs from old New England with the Rum Soaked Crooks and friends including a performance by the Crooks of the winning entry of the MLA Librarian's shantey contest! Find the rules and the tune for the Sea Shantey contest here, and start writing your lyrics!

"O' Sullivan Meets O' Farrell": members of the Newport Baroque Orchestra with internationally acclaimed uilleann piper Jerry O'Sullivan.  This concert will be held at St. John the Evangelist church, 61 Poplar Street, Newport (around the corner from the hotel); tickets $20.00 for MLA attendees ; $25.00 general admission.

Cocktail hour and Banquet entertainment

Don’t forget your dancing shoes!  Back by popular demand, the MLA Big Band will kick the evening off at the cocktail hour.  We will finish the evening with a 'Fais do-do' Cajun dance with New England’s own Magnolia Cajun Band.
