Campaign Goal: Raise $40 Million for 20 Endowed Faculty Chairs
Trinity's faculty members are the chief architects and stewards of academic excellence. They raise the bar of intellectual expectation. They inspire. They mentor. They transform.
Our faculty are dedicated to their disciplines and to their students.

Professor Louis Masur is the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of American Institutions and Values at Trinity. At the College since 2004, he is the author or editor of seven books and many publications. He holds a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, as well as M.A. and a Ph.D. from Princeton University.
"We need financial support to subsidize wonderful students and faculty who might not otherwise be here. That allows us to teach the reality of diversity, not the ideal. Endowed funds will help Trinity step up its ability to bring in the kind of teachers, researchers, speakers, and authors who can capture the hearts and minds of students. Endowed chairs, outside influences, new ideas - these will all help the College be transformed."
~Louis Masur |
The addition of 20 new chairs will fortify the faculty as never before. They will help us retain superior teacher-scholars (who are regularly pursued by other institutions) and recruit new colleagues.
The new chairs will also return the College to an intimacy of scale best conducive to teaching and learning. While Trinity's student body has grown over the years, standing now at approximately 2,200, the size of the faculty has remained virtually the same. Thus, Trinity's student-faculty ratio - once 10:1, is now close to 12:1.
Your support for new endowed faculty chairs will enable Trinity to attract and retain the highest quality faculty in an increasingly competitive environment.
