February 13: "VAGINA MONOLOGUES," 7pm, Washington Room, Mather Hall,

February 13 is V-DAY! V-Day is a worldwide campaign to end violence against women and girls. "Vagina Monologues" is sponsored by the SATF (Sexual Assault Task Force), SART (Sexual Assault Response Team), & the Women, Gender & Sexuality Department. Reservations not required. Tickets available at the door. Price: $2, with Trinity ID; $5 for the public. Proceeds will go to the Hartford Interval House. Co-Directors: Meghan Boone, '06, and Anne-Louise Marquis, '06.

February 25: "PLUS SIZE v SUPER THIN: THE MEDIA'S IMPACT ON WOMEN," Assistant Professor of Psychology Claire Wiseman will deliver this lecture in the Faculty Club, Hamlin Hall, 4:15 PM. All are welcome to attend. There will be a reception following the talk. This event is sponsored by RIBS, and honors National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.

March 2: "THE ERADICATION OF PREJUDICE," Patricia J. Williams, 7pm, Washington Room, Mather Hall

Ms. Williams will be speaking In honor of Black & Women's History Month. She authors the column "Diary of a Mad Law Professor" for "The Nation"." Her book, "The Alchemy of Race and Rights," was named one of the the twenty-five best books of 1991 by the "Voice Literary Supplement" (Dec. 10, 1991, p. 16-17), and one of the "feminist classics of the last twenty years" that "literally changed women's lives," by "Ms. Magazine's Twentieth Anniversary Edition" (July/August, 1992, p. 64). She serves on the board of National Organization for Women Legal Defense and Education Fund and has authored numerous articles for scholarly journals and popular magazines and newspapers including "The New York Times", "USA Today", "Harvard Law Review", "Tikkun", "The New York Times Book Review", "The Nation", "Ms. Magazine", "The New Yorker" and "The Village Voice."

CONVERSATION CAFE- a student-led current events discussion group.

SAFE ZONE PROGRAM - a program which provides training for faculty, staff, administration and students who want to provide a safe and welcoming space for members of Trinity’s lesbian/gay/bisexual and transgender community. SEXUAL ASSAULT TASK FORCE - a group of students and Trinity members who organize activities and programs to raise awareness about the issue of sexual violence on campus. For more information contact Ben Johnson, (x2808).

RIBS (REDEFINING IDEAL BEAUTY STANDARDS) - a group of students who strive to educate the campus on the issue of eating disorders. Meetings are Mondays at 5:30pm, Women's Center Lounge. contact Abbie Garrity for information (x3107).
