"
My current research interests involve issues of race and culture in the history of Central America. I am particularly interested in the ways that representations of key figures in the region's history, especially in Honduras, have been addressed in the historiography from the perspective of the hegemony of a particular reading of racial miscegenation, understood in Latin America generally as mestizaje. I am more and more interested in looking at these issues from a "gender" perspective, particularly regarding issues of inclusion and exclusion from the nation during critical junctures in Honduras's history."
