Make Your interest in Women,
Gender, and Sexuality transnational: take advantage of opportunities to
engage in gender studies at one of Trinity College's study away sites.
Several of these sites offer students the possibility of exploring
specific gender and sexuality topics in a variety of exciting cultural
locations. Each site also offers accompanying internships that we
encourage students to take advantage of.
Kathmandu--here
in Trinity's Nepal site--focus on either Tibetan or Nepalese culture and
language, while taking courses on women in the arts, religion, or
health/development, as well as gender and human rights.
Director Peter Moran can
help you design your gender studies focus and assist you in finding and
defining an appropriate internship for you interests--perhaps in the area
of women and crafts- in this incredible crossroads of Asian cultures.
Santiago--Our
Santiago site emphasizes women's rights and human rights, with a
core course through the Center for Gender Studies as well as a variety of
elective courses (all at the University of Chile) and a unique set of
internships with human rights organizations. Pedro Matta, onsite in
Santiago, will help you find the gender internship suited to your needs.

Trinidad (other
site)--Coming soon, the gender track in Trinidad will provide allows
you to focus on (a) gender and development and gender in Caribbean
culture or (b) gender in the Muslim diaspora with courses through the
Center for Gender Studies, University of West Indies or (on Islam) at the
Islamic Academy. Students will also choose unique internships at
organizations like Working Women or through the various women's leagues
associated with the Islamic Academy in Port of Spain. Talk with
