Studio 47 Series

The Studio 47 Series invites choreographers, performance artists, and musicians in the region to share their work in an informal setting. Considered a living textbook for many of our courses, the monthly Studio 47 performances give audiences an opportunity to ask the artists questions about their process and vision. Curated by Professors ¬Judy Dworin and Lesley Farlow, the series gives artists a chance to share both finished work and work-in-progress in an environment that encourages dialogue and interaction.

Seabury 19 Series

The focus of the Seabury 19 Series is on collaborations between the Department of Theater and Dance, other academic departments on campus, the Music Department in particular, and our students. Each semester, there are three events: one that engages another academic department, one that engages Music, and one with our own theater and dance students in a juried presentation. The Seabury 19 events encompass lectures, lecture/demonstrations, master classes, and small-scale productions. They are aimed at looking at the interdisciplinary meeting grounds that are possible within performance.

Trinity Unlimited

Trinity Unlimited is the Theater and Dance Department's own repertory dance and performance company. Guest, faculty, and student choreographers have contributed to a growing repertoire of distinctive works. Upcoming plans include exchange performances between colleges, touring Hartford city schools and neighborhood centers, a master class series of choreographic workshops, and more!

Happenings at Austin Arts

Besides the more informal studio performances, the Department of Theater and Dance sponsors a wide range of performance events in the Austin Arts Center. Each semester there is a shared faculty/student dance showcase on the main stage and a theater-based performance event in either the black box or mainstage.

In addition, Austin Arts Center has its own Center Artists Series. Click here to see the exciting array of performances featured.
