What is the Counseling Center?

The Trinity Counseling Center provides a full range of counseling and psychological services to all students who desire assistance in coping with personal and emotional difficulties and social relationships. All services offered by the Center are free, and all contact with members of the staff is privileged and confidential as provided by federal and state law. The Center is located at 76 Vernon Street, in the same building as Campus Safety, but on the second level.

Dr. Randolph M. Lee, Director of the Counseling Center, and Dr. Carmen Santos, Assistant Director, are licensed psychologists and according to both Trinity College policy and federal and state law, all information and material gathered by the staff of the Counseling Center are available only to the Counseling Center staff. Except in the case of clear and imminent danger to an individual or society, no information will be transmitted to anyone inside or outside the College without the consent of the student.  Also on the professional staff is Laura Reiter, LCSW, Assistant Counselor.  Ms. Reiter is a licensed clinical social worker with over twenty years of clinical experience, and is a part-time professional staff member at the Counseling Center.

In addition to Dr. Lee, Dr. Santos, and Ms. Reiter, the Counseling Center staff includes two advanced graduate students in the doctoral training program in clinical psychology at the University of Hartford, During 2003-04, our trainees are Mr. Steven Bonanno and Ms. Kelly Nicholson and.  Both have had experience and training in counseling and psychotherapy.

We also have two consulting psychiatrists available in the Center for medication consultation for students who are in therapy with one of the members of the staff. Dr. Adele Martel and Dr. Ann Price are available on referral from a member of the Center staff.  Appointments may be made with Drs. Lee, Santos, Ms. Reiter, Ms. Nicholson or Mr. Bonanno by calling the Center (297-2415), or through this form on the web.

About Our Web Site

Our web site has undergone extensive revision and expansion during the summer.  We invite you to peruse the information provided, using the links at the right, and also to contact us with questions, comments, or suggestions about our site.

How Do I Make an Appointment?

Students may simply call the Center at 297-2415 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and Kristina Cavalieri, our Office Coordinator, will help to set up an appointment. Or, click here to see a form that will go to directly to a professional staff member at the Center and have us call you.  Usually an appointment can be set up for no later than the next day or so, although in busy periods, or if a student wishes an appointment with a specific person or at a specific time of day, there may be a few days before a time can be scheduled. Appointments may often be made as early as 8:00 a.m. or as late as 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. In an emergency, of course, students will be seen within a few hours at most.  You can also e-mail either  Dr. Lee, Dr. Santos, or Ms. Reiter by clicking on their names here.
