Steering Board History:

CHAS was founded in 2001 under the leadership of Dr. Sharon Herzberger, who was Vice-President of Student Services at Trinity College, and is now the President of Whittier College.  She served as Chair of the steering board until 2005, when she left for Whittier College.

Another founding member of the steering board is Ed Pittman of Vassar College

Each representative of the six institutions on the steering board plays a role in CHAS decision making, and in communication with CHAS presidents.  The steering board members are elected by the institutional representatives from each school, and serve a several year term.  The terms are staggered to allow longer serving board members to serve with newer board members.
