AGENDA
Black and Latino Male Conference
SWARTHMORE COLLEGE
November 9-11, 2007
THE
NEW DANGER:
Black and Latino Men Facing Evolving
Challenges
to their
Scholarship
and
Community
The NEW DANGER is us? We
are not an endangered species: nor are we dangerous. We are Black and Latino
male students attending CHAS member institutions, who have moved beyond
surviving to thriving. We reject stereotypes that question our excellence and
we proclaim ourselves as emerging scholars and leaders of an ever-changing
world. We accept the call to uplift our communities through proactive
engagement, and unconditional support of our brothers and sisters. The very
real and NEW DANGER derives from our unwavering commitment to being (becoming) a
transformative force upon the world stage. As Black and Latino men, the future
is ours: The NEW DANGER is us . . . in greater numbers as scholars and great
influence as leaders!
In conjunction with
CHAS, the Black and Latino men of ABLLE (Achieving Black and Latino Leaders of
Excellence) at Swarthmore College invite you to join them for a weekend of
discussion, skill-building, networking, and social activities.
