2011 FACULTY FORUM
The Science of Teaching and Learning: June 3, 2011 While there are both
education researchers looking at the teaching of science, and scientists who
dabble in education, some presentations by those in education are not
helpful to those who do teach science.
Sessions will explore:
- How teaching in STEM disciplines evolves based on scientific
findings about how people learn.
- How do they know that these strategies are working.
- What classroom practices lead to an inclusive environment.
- What conversations help get the process started, be through
centers for teaching and learning, education departments, or
among STEM faculty.
