Theresa Morris

Professor Morris’ primary areas of specialization are the Sociology of Organizations, Economic Sociology, and Political Sociology. In her current research program, she examines how regulation changes at the state and national levels impact organizational change in the banking industry. She has extended this research to encompass the impacts of changes in organizational structure of banks in the U.S. banking industry on mortgage lending to minorities and on community economic development. Most recently, she, along with her co-Principal Investigator, Harland Prechel, was awarded a National Science Foundation grant to study the link between organizational structure and corporate malfeasance in Fortune 500 Corporations.
