Jan Gadeyne

Jan Gadeyne Jan Gadeyne is Senior Lecturer in Art History at the Rome Campus. A native of Belgium, he earned his Licentiaat summa cum laude in archaeology and art history at the Catholic University of Louvain with a thesis on The Public Temples in Rome in the Late Antique Period (193-423 AD). A Topographical and Historical Study. He is an active archaeologist in Rome and a featured scholar in the History Channel DVD Rome: Engineering an Empire. His current research is about the urban history of Rome in Late Antiquity and Roman villas and the countryside around Rome.

The vigorous pace of his walking tours is sure to give you a workout. There is an ongoing challenge for any student to reach Villa Jovis at Capri’s summit before him.
