Spencer DiScala

Spencer DiScala is Professor of History at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and Principal Lecturer in History at the Rome Campus. He earned his B.A. at Queens College, CUNY, and his M.A. and Ph.D at Columbia University. A distinguished historian, he is the author of two major textbooks about Italian and European history - Italy: from Revolution to Republic, 1700 to the Present (Westview Press) and Twentieth Century Europe: Politics, Society, and Culture (McGraw Hill) - as well as several classic monographs about Italian political history. His current research is about Enrico Fermi and the atomic bomb.
