Albert Gastmann, professor emeritus of political science, developed a program in international relations that he taught on three occasions at the Rome Campus. Inspired by his example, TC/RC now offers a special intensive course (seminar and fieldwork) with guided research at United Nations agencies and other international organizations in Rome. The Gastmann Field Seminar is a fine opportunity for students interested in the challenges of global politics.

Global Problems (ROME 328)

A course that combines an introduction to the UN system as an evolving mechanism for global governance with an investigation of selected global problems.   Visits to a Rome-based UN food agency (FAO, WFP, IFAD and IPGRI) and other non-UN sites representative of global problems in and around Rome form an integral part of the course.

Enrollment is limited to 12 students.
