Italian Cinema (ROME 217)
Analysis and comparison of narrative and dramatic elements of Italian literature and cinema. This course will consider novels and their film versions, works in the two media by the same artist, and varying treatments of the same themes in literature and film. The course will focus in part on works set in Rome.Enrollment is limited to 20 students.

Note: The texts for ROME 217 will be read in translation. Students may count ROME 217 for credit in the Italian major at Trinity College by completing a substantial portion of the syllabus in Italian under the instructor’s supervision.
