SANDELL AND KLAUS LEAD TRINITY MEN'S SOCCER TO RAIN SOAKED WIN
Middletown, Conn.- The Trinity College Bantams defeated the Wesleyan University Cardinals through a driving rain, 3-1, in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men’s soccer action this afternoon. Trinity improves to 6-5-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the NESCAC with its second straight win, while Wesleyan drops to 8-4
Senior forward Morgan Sandell (Cohasset, Mass.) scored his tenth goal of the season to give the Bantams a 2-0 lead after nearly missing a goal in the opening minutes of action. Sandell’ initial shot had deflected to the foot of John Klaus (Blue Bell, Pa.) who buried the ball into the corner of the net to give the Bantams a 1-0 lead.
Wesleyan made it a game when Evan Berding (Roanoke, Va.) scored a goal in the 85th minute of play to cut Trinity’s lead in half. Bantam junior midfielder Chris Walther (Pallisades, N.J.) answered quickly with a blast from outside the 18-yard box in the final minute of play
