DORR AND PIANTEK POWER TRINITY 
IN VICTORY OVER BATES

Hartford, Conn.- Junior Jayme Dorr (Osterville, Mass.) hit a two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 6-3 win over the Bates College Bobcats in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East Division baseball action this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 4 in New England, improves to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in the NESCAC East, while the Bobcats drop to 3-5-1 overall and 0-1 in the league.

Bates starter Mike Kinsman (Yarmouth, Maine) shut down the Bantams for the first five innings, before junior Kurt Piantek (Wallingford, Conn.) keyed a three-run sixth inning with a two-run homer giving Trinity a 3-2 lead. Bates tied the score in the their half of the eighth inning when Drew McKenna (Middleboro, Mass.) plated Nate Maxwell (Newport, Vt.) on a sacrifice fly to center field. However, Dorr delivered with his bomb that gave the Bantams a 6-3 advantage in the bottom of the eighth.

Trinity sophomore right-hander Kevin Tidmarsh (Meriden, Conn.) was solid on the hill for the Bantams, working eight innings and striking out 10. Freshmen Mark Tremblay (Hooksett, N.H.) picked up his first career save, fanning all three batters he faced in the ninth frame.
