Early Decision Affidavit

Trinity is in agreement with other colleges with respect to the following guidelines:

1. When candidates file formal application for admission, they must request in writing that they be considered for Early Decision and state that they will enroll if admitted. Early Decision candidates may file regular applications at other colleges, but only with the understanding that these will be withdrawn and no new applications will be initiated if they are accepted by Trinity under either Early Decision Option.

2. Only one Early Decision application can be made. It is a violation of the spirit and intent of this program to file Early Decision applications at more than one institution at the same time.

3. For Early Decision Option 1, all application materials must be submitted by November 15. For Early Decision Option 2, all application materials must be submitted by January 1.

4. Candidates admitted under the Early Decision Program who demonstrate financial need as established by the guidelines of the College Scholarship Service will be notified of their awards shortly after the time they receive their Early Decision acceptance, provided all financial aid forms are satisfactorily completed and on file in the Trinity Office of Financial Aid.  It is the policy of the College to fund all needy students who are admitted under Early Decision.

5. An Early Decision acceptance is conditional upon completion of the senior year in good standing.

6. Candidates deferred under the Early Decision Program will automatically be transferred to the regular applicant pool. Deferral as an Early Decision candidate in no way prejudices consideration of the candidate in the regular applicant pool. Each year there are applicants who are deferred under Early Decision but subsequently admitted when decisions on regular applications are announced.

7. Responsibility for understanding and complying with the guidelines for Early Decision rests with the candidate. Should the candidate violate the provisions of the program, the College will reconsider its offer of admission (and financial aid if appropriate) to the candidate. Multiple Early Decision applications at other colleges may result in the loss of admission to those colleges.

8. The Early Decision form must be signed by the applicant and a College Counselor in order to affirm that they fully understand the provisions of the Early Decision agreement.

I am a candidate for Early Decision to Trinity College under Option 1 _____ /Option 2 _____ . Trinity is my only Early Decision application and I agree to abide by the guidelines outlined above. If admitted, I will immediately withdraw applications at other colleges and will enroll at Trinity.  I also understand that with an Early Decision offer of admission, Trinity may share my name and my Early Decision agreement with other institutions.
