Math 101

Contemporary Applications: Math for the 21st Century

The target audience is those students who show weakness in at least three of the four proficiency areas. Students review concepts of numerical, statistical, algebraic, and logical reasoning with emphasis on real-life examples in current print and electronic media. Curriculum includes most topics from Math 102, 103, and 104 (see below). This is possible because all three Math Center courses include numerical reasoning topics, such as proportion, percent, precision, and scientific notation. [1 course credit if C- or better; no extra credit for weekly lab]
