AGENCY FUNCTION: The Wadsworth Atheneum is one of the oldest public art museums in the country. It is composed of five architecturally diverse buildings and contains a comprehensive fine arts collection.  Visit www.wadsworthatheneum.org for more information.

1/ Curatorial: American Painting and sculpture; European Painting and Sculpture; American and European Decorative Arts; Costumes and Textiles; MATRIX (changing exhibitions of contemporary art); African-American Art and Artifacts; Archives.

2/ Education: School Programs and Tours; Interpretive Programs for children and adults.

3/ Design and Installation.

4/ Public Information.

5/ Library.

6/ Registrar.

7/ Development and grant writing.

8/ Membership Office, Business Office, Museum Shop.

9/ Photographic Services.

NOTE: 

EARLY APPLICATION AND PERSONAL INTERVIEW ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. 

Application Deadlines:  Fall 2003 - July 18, 2003; Spring 2004 - October 31, 2003; Summer 2004 – March 26, 2004.  JUNIORS AND SENIORS PREFERRED.

HOURS PER WEEK: 12 Fall & Spring; 20 hours Summer (Required weekly intern seminar).
