AGENCY FUNCTION: The Center’s mission is to inspire individuals to embrace Stowe’s message of social justice and to work toward positive change in their communities. The Center owns and operates the restored Harriet Beecher Stowe House and Library, a leading repository of materials on 19th- century women’s history (especially the suffrage movement), 19th-century African-American history, Victorian architecture and decorative arts, and the Stowe and Beecher families. INTERN ACTIVITIES:

    1. Library: learn fundamentals of collections care, archival research and special projects.
    2. Programs/Education: assist with special programs, school outreach, and interpretation of the Stowe House.
