AGENCY FUNCTION: A non-profit corporation operating Connecticut`s statewide five-channel public television station and the state's largest public radio station. Both CPTV and CPR offer high quality local and national non-commercial programming for the people of Connecticut.

INTERN ACTIVITIES: Some of the available placements are listed below. Visit CPB's website http://www.cpbi.org/CPBIInternships.shtml for specific internships as well as application procedures and deadlines.

1/ Auction/Fundraising: assist with all phases of auction including contacting businesses for donations, processing, scripting and warehousing merchandise, preparing for on-air auction in April.

2/ Celebrity Donors: Explore potential celebrity donors and donations (sports, politics, movies, etc) for April Auction, including research, contact, cataloguing, scripting and follow-up.

3/ Development/Research: Research foundations for prospects, cross-referencing information.

4/ Marketing: Coordinate sales and marketing tools, radio and TV research, credit guidelines, logs/affidavits.

5/ Membership: Update radio and TV response letters; research, resolve and respond to member problems and complaints.

6/ Programming: Assist Program Manager, producers, with research, data compilation, logging videotape & clerical duties.

7/ Radio Promotions: Assist with radio newsletter, press releases, on-air copy, special events, radio procedures and production, public relations.

8/ Volunteer Services: Assist with recruiting, training and coordinating volunteers for major on-air fundraisers and ongoing needs.

9/ Wine Auction: solicit wine donations from wineries, inventory, scripting for on-air auction, process donations & paperwork, attend Wine Committee meetings.
