AGENCY FUNCTION:  CIP is an advocacy agency which monitors the cases of children involved in Juvenile Court abuse and neglect proceedings as well as Probate Court matters involving custodial issues, providing follow-up until the child is home or permanently placed.  CIP recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (or CASA’s).

 

INTERN ACTIVITIES:  Participate in hearings on neglect cases; attend pre-trial conferences; follow up by telephone with third party contacts; write occasional reports for court/attorneys; keep court informed of case progress; assist Program Coordinator with recruitment, case work and volunteer contact.

 

HOURS PER WEEK:  8-12
