Connecticut Association of NonProfits (CANP) (SPRING). Statewide association which serves, strengthens and supports Connecticut's nonprofit community. Internship will provide the ability to witness all facets of the operation and management of this 500 member organization. Intern responsibilities will include but not be limited to: membership recruitment research and strategies; support for communications and outreach efforts; website updating with key resource information (technical skills not necessary); assistance in all aspects of training center offering 150 courses to people working in the nonprofit sector. 10 - 20 hours needed, with flexible hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Stipend available.  Another internship opportunity is listed below. Jewish Federation Association of Connecticut (JFACT) SPRING, SUMMER, FALL. Legislative and government affairs representative on the interests of concern to the Jewish community in Connecticut. These include elder care, child advocacy, immigration, education, Medicare and Medicaid. JFACT serves as an advocate for the Jewish Community on issues throughout the state of Connecticut, National and International issues. JFACT also runs two coalitions out of the office, The Connecticut Coalition to Save Darfur, and The Connecticut Immigrant and Refugee Coalition. This is an opportunity in product marketing at a level of responsibility and experience not normally offered to undergrads. Danbury Trashers, LLC FALL, SPRING. Professional hockey team and a member of the United Hockey League. Most games held Friday and Saturday nights, occasional Sunday and weeknights. Several types of internships available: Video Crew - running control room equipment, operating cameras, music program, other duties as needed. Familiarity with operation of video and control room equipment, basic graphic arts knowledge desirable. Crew members must be at arena 1.5 hours before start of games. Public Relations - assist Director of Communications with tasks such as gathering news clippings, assisting with writing/distribution of media notes at home games, assisting broadcaster during game to ensure up-to-date information, attending some PR events, calling media outlets, escorting media members to locker room and supervising pre/post-game interviews, other miscellaneous duties as needed.
