Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any
entrance requirements?
No, we do not require SAT scores or an
associate’s degree. Students transferring in less than six courses
will be required to take a writing proficiency exam.
Do I need a
minimum GPA?
It would be helpful to have a 3.0 or
above, but each applicant is reviewed on an individual basis.
May I transfer credits from previous colleges?
You may transfer up to 18 courses in the
liberal arts or sciences from other accredited colleges.
Do I have to
be a full-time student?
You may be full-time or part-time
depending on your needs. Students interested in federal aid must be
enrolled in at least two courses per semester. Foreign students must
carry a full course load of four courses.
Will I have an academic advisor?
You will be assigned an IDP faculty
advisor, and a peer advisor. Both the director and the assistant
director also act as academic advisors.
May I use the campus facilities?
IDP students are considered full-fledged
students. All of the campus facilities, including the library,
computing center, math and writing centers, and more are open to IDP
students.
Will I be allowed to join campus organizations?
Yes, many IDP students get involved with
student organizations.
Will I have to live on campus?
There is no campus housing for adult
students.
How can I receive an application?
Interested candidates can request an IDP
brochure and College Bulletin. After you have gone over the
materials, you will schedule a preliminary interview with Liz Burns,
Assistant Director. You will receive application
materials at the interview.
