| Each journey begins with a small step. Here Katharine Spencer and Jon Nyce take that step by setting up the TCS tent |
Katharine had other duties, so Jon put the finishing touches on the TCS tent which was used to house clothing and overnight sleepers |
The next step was construction of Lisa's Place, shown here in the beginning stages. What a crew!! |
 |
 |
 |
| In short time, Lisa's Place, a resting Oasis in the sun, was finished and looking good! Jim Nestor is shown here awaiting the first guests. |
The wait was not long as patrons were quickly drawn to Lisa's Place inviting atmosphere, even before there was someone on duty. |
Professor Bill Church "tended" Lisa's Place for the evening. He served a plethora of drinks (non-alcoholic), munchies, and good conversation with anyone insterested in visiting. |

| The opening cermonies were officially attended by 700 patrons, which was a record attendence in the 3 years of the Trinity College Relay for Life event. |
The survivor lap begins this event, with everyone sharing a moment, and a lap around the track. |
By 9:00 PM, the sun had set, but not the enthusiasm. As this group shows, enthusiasm did not wane with evening's approach. |
 |
 |
 |
| Neither the enthusiasm or numbers faded for TCS. There was always a minimum of 3 TCS walkers on the track, and often several more. |
Some of the Chemistry professors took part in the evening festivities. |
As the evening grew more and more late, the effervescence and optimism continued to grow. |

|
| These 4 brave folk ushered in the morning sun on Saturday morning. |
By mid-morning, other students were taking over the walking duties, but the TCS maintained an excellent presence throughout the entire event. |

| This group was present for the final Survivors Lap on Saturday morning. It marked an end to a successful event for a very worthy cause. |
Here is a photo of the TCS members present at the end of this event. From beginning to end, the number of walkers never waned. We are all very proud of them! |
We can never forget the reason for "Relay for LIfe" which is hope. The sign was spelled out throughout the evening on the bleachers overlooking the track and was a beacon in the darkness for all participants. |
