Summer 2007
Minor League Baseball
Not quite the Major Leagues

You cannot have a summer without the traditional baseball game. Although we did not play the game ourselves, we did venture to a Rockcats Baseball game (Minnesota Twins AA affiliate). Anyone familiar with minor league baseball games knows that the atmosphere is somewhat different from the major leagues, as some of the pictures will show. We all had a good time and the Rockcats...well...won their first game in 8 attempts! I think we were their good luck charm!!!

A photo with the group outside of the stadium was a must!!

Not quite sure what a cow has to do with the Rockcats, but it was worth a photo shoot.

All we wanted to do was chat with Rocky, but the cat snubbed us all evening. At least some of the students chatted with Lucky!

Here was a group of players warming up before the game. Not the Rockcats, however, so boo...hiss!!

Before the game, everyone poses nicely for a picture...Well, not everyone.

Here, folks show off the deflated soccer balls that were given out to the first 500 people. It seemed to me that everyone in the stadium had one.

Finally, when the tension could build no more, it was the first pitch, and the game was under way.

If a RockCats player hit the milk carton, we could have won some big money! Alas, getting the ball out of the infield seemed a difficult enough task.

Between games of this double-header, we were treated to a mound wetting exhibition. It was not quite the same excitement has having a player hit the milk carton.

This is supposed to be family entertainment, but it looks as if someone paid Rocky as a Pied Piper to lure kids away from the park.

The home team lost the second game, but we got to see them win the first, snapping an 8 game losing streak. Maybe Rocky will talk with us next time. At least Lucky remembered part of our crowd.
