The 2007 ACS meeting was held in Chicago Illinois from March 25 through March 29. |
Nestled in the downtown area of Chicago, we had a sparkling view outside the window. |
Looking out the same window at a different angle, however, did give a much nicer view. |
While a short walk gave a very nice view of Chicago's skyline. Overall, quite impressive. |
The chemistry was equally impressive. Here the students Tim Scarella, Katharine Spencer, Kwame Frimpong, and Becca Suflas, pose for a picture before presenting their work. |
Katharine explains asymmetrical diyne formation to interested chemists. |
Becca and Tim explain how to control functional group formation. |
Kwame speeds along with his presentation on rates and kinetics of indium promoted reactions. |
During a break in the action, Becca and Tim take advantage of the nice weather to see a bit of the outdoors. |
No trip to Chicago is complete without a visit to the famous "Bean." |
Here, Dr. Thomas Mitzel, Dr. Richard Prigodich, and Andrew Prigodich see the world as viewed from a reflection of the "Bean." |
Here is a view from directly inside the "Bean." The Twilight Zone has nothing on this world!! |
After all the Chemistry, and the "Bean" there was time for one more quick look around before heading back to Trinity College and the laboratory to work on some more wonderful chemistry systems. |
