Here is a little update of my work at the present time. I am in my 3rd year of graduate school at Tufts University where I am going for my PhD in analytical chemistry. I work in the In-Situ Planetary Chemical Analysis Laboratory where we are currently focused on the planet Mars. For my thesis project I am working on development of a total inorganic carbon/total organic carbon analyzer to better understand the evolution of Martian organics. I am also taking part in another of our lab's projects called the Wet Chemistry Lab (WCL), which is an array of ion selective electrodes, along with electrodes to measure pH, conductivity, and oxidation-reduction potential. The WCL is a part of the Microscopy, Electrochemistry, and Conductivity Analyzer (MECA) package, one of the many scientific instruments aboard the NASA Phoenix Mars Mission, which launched this past August.
