Rules of Conduct for Shared Computing Systems
- Users may not use Trinity College computing facilities to carry out any
illegal activity.
- Users are prohibited from attempting to circumvent system security
measures. This includes but is not limited to attempts to discover the
passwords of other users and attempts to read other user's non-public
files.
- Users must not attempt to cause system malfunctions.
- Users must not alter other user's files without permission, even when
it is possible to do so.
- Users may not sell the use of Trinity College computing facilities.
- Users shall not use any Trinity College computing facilities to send unsolicited
bulk email. This prohibition extends to any use of the LAN, Internet connection,
email servers, and shared Unix systems for such purposes.
- WWW server space provided by Trinity College shall not be used to display advertisements
for any product or service.
