A Beginner's Guide to Ad-aware 6.181

After downloading and installing the Ad-aware program from the Lavasoft website, open the program by double-clicking on the desktop icon or running it from the Start menu.  The main Ad-aware Status window will appear.

Before you begin your first scan, you should click the Check for updates now link.  The following window will appear.

Click on "Connect" to determine whether you need updates.  If the program detects that there is a reference file available for download, click "OK". Click on "Finish" to get back to the main window.

To scan for spyware, click the Start button, then the "Next" button to get to the following window. Click on "Next" with the default settings.

When the program has finished scanning, you will see the number of (bad) new objects as in the window below. Click on "Next".

Listed here are all the detected bad objects. Make sure that each objects is checked for removal and then click "Next". A window will appear asking you to confirm the removal of files.

Click "OK" to confirm removal.
