Double-Sided Duplex Printing for Windows XP/2000 on HP Printers

1. If you are not sure the duplex option is installed on the printer, you may find out by clicking on the Start Menu, select Settings, and finally Printers and Faxes.

2. From the Printers and Faxes screen, right click on the printer in question, and select Properties.

3. There There should be something similar to the window below. If the Duplex Unit is installed, click OK to close the window. If the Duplex Unit option is not set to Installed but you know there is a Duplex Unit, click on the item and change the setting, then click OK to close the window. If you are not sure, you may call the help desk for further assistance. Note: Not all models will list the Duplex Unit under Installable Options. If your printer does not, please proceed to Step 4.

4. To access printer options, click on the Start Menu, select Settings, and finally Printers and Faxes.

5. From the Printers and Faxes screen, right-click on the printer you would like to set up. Select Printing Preferences from the menu.

6. Most HP printers will display the following window if the Duplex Unit is installed. On the Layout tab, select the Flip on Long Edge option as shown below.

7. Click OK on all open windows. If you are done, close the Printers and Faxes window. If not, repeat steps 2 through 6 for any remaining Canon Copiers/Printers.
