Labs, and Classrooms With ComputersTwo kinds of computer-equipped teaching facilities can be found at Trinity: labs and classrooms. The labs have computers available for both instructor and students. Computer-equipped classrooms are regular classrooms with a single computer for the instructor, along with a means of displaying to the class the instructor's screen. These classrooms typically have wireless access so students may bring their own personal laptops to create an impromptu networked lab. The Registrar's Office maintains several sets of web pages that are very useful in planning your classroom use as well. These are the Room Assignments for the upcoming semester, and the Trinity Rooms Indexed by Setup and Equipment page. The Room Assignments page lets you see the scheduling for individual rooms by clicking on "Classroom Search" at the top. The Room Index page groups rooms by setup and equipment. The labs should only be used if students need to compute during class time. All computer-equipped rooms are scheduled through the Registrar's Office. Before using one of these rooms for the first time, be sure to schedule an appointment with a member of Media Technology Services, or your Academic Computing Resource Specialist, who can brief you on the operation of the equipment. Other DisplaysIf you are in a classroom that does not have projection capabilities, LCD projectors can be provided for special showings by the audio-visual department. Contact Media Technology Services, x2422 for details about these or any of the technology-equipped teaching spaces. Back | Faculty Handbook of Computing Main Page | Next
