FORWARDING YOUR E-MAIL

Why would you want to forward your e-mail?

There are a few reasons. First, you may want to consolidate all of your e-mails into one address instead of having a separate Trinity e-mail address. Second, after you have left Trinity and have gone into post-graduate or post-Trinity life, you may have a new e-mail address. Like the Post Office forwards any new letters you receive at an old location, you can do the same with your electronic mail. Any messages sent to your e-mail address will be automatically resent, or forwarded, to your new address.

How does this affect your Trinity e-mail account?

For Alumnae: You can set your e-mail account to forward your e-mail, but you should know that you will lose the account (you won't be able to set it back to receive messages after 2 months). Special programs delete inactive accounts, so by not logging in it will appear that your account is inactive and it will be terminated. The forwarding feature, however, will remain and will forward your e-mail to other addresses forever. So, you can direct e-mail to other accounts from your address here, but you will no longer have an account with Trinity that stores e-mail messages.

Please contact the Alumni Office at Trinity College (860)297-2400 or go online to the Alumni Services page and fill out their online form to forward your e-mail.

For Currently Enrolled Students: You can set your e-mail account to forward to another address and you will not lose any of your Trinity accounts. All your Trinity accounts (Blackboard, TCOnline, etc.) will stay in effect at least until you graduate.

1. You can forward your e-mail through a web browser by going to http://mail.trincoll.edu

2. Click on the link (Activate your E-Mail, BlackBoard, and other Trinity Accounts).

3. Run through this activation script and follow the instructions. You will be given the option to forward your e-mails to a different e-mail address.

For Faculty/Staff: You can set your e-mail account to forward to another address and you will not lose any of your Trinity accounts. All of your Trinity accounts will stay in effect during your employment at Trinity. Please call the Helpdesk at x2100 to forward your account.
