Exporting Presentations to HTML/PowerPoint

This guide will detail how to export a presentation to an HTML file or a PowerPoint Presentation.  This is a useful way to share Insight presentations with others who do not have the program.

After you login to Insight 5.1, click on File -> open group -> your group to select the group with the desired presentation.  Refer to the image below:

Click on the find presentations button circled above to view all the presentations associated with this group.  The screen should now look similar to the one below:

1) From this window, select the presentation to be exported by clicking on the presentation icon.  A white box should appear around the icon.

2) Select file from the menu options and then click on export presentation to HTML or export presentation to PowerPoint from the menu.  The Export presentation menu should appear (refer to picture below).

The menu above asks you to choose a resolution for the exported presentation.  The higher the resolution (more pixels), the better the quality of the images and the more space on your hard disk the presentation will take.  Inversely, lower resolution (less pixels) means the images will take up less hard disk space.

Note:  Most screens are 1028 x 768 in resolution, making that an ideal resolution for images.  However, if you plan on adding text to the image 800 x 600 would be a more appropriate resolution.

3) Click on the desired resolution.  The Specify Download Folder window should appear.  It will look similar to the one below:

4) Select the location on your computer to save the presentation to and click on Save.  The presentation saved will be inside its own folder (named the same as the presentation) in the location specified on your computer.

For example, if the title of the exported presentation is Blue, and you chose to save the presentation on the Desktop, there should be a folder by the name of Blue on the Desktop and within that folder should be the exported presentation titled Blue.

Once the exported presentation has been saved, the menu should look similar to the one pictured below:

5) Click on the test exported presentation button to view the presentation as an HTML file or a PowerPoint file (depending on what you exported to).  Doing so will open a web browser or PowerPoint and allow you to view your presentation.

This concludes the guide on Exporting Presentations to HTML/PPT.
