Advanced Presentation Features

This guide will explain how to use the more advanced tools in the Image Workshop window to create advanced presentations.  It is assumed that the reader has experience creating simple presentations.  If this is not the case, please refer to the Creating Simple Presentations guide.

There are four main tools on the Image Workspace window that can be used to enhance images and create advanced presentations.  Each tool is circled with a different color oval corresponding to the color of their name (refer to image and descriptions below):

Presentation Editor:  This tool displays the images from the selected group to be used in the presentation.  The number at the bottom left of each image represents the order which the images will be displayed in the presentation.

To change the order of the images, simply drag and drop the image on top of the image with the desired position (for example, if you want the number 3 image to be first, drag and drop the number 3 image on top of the number 1 image).  When an image is placed over another image, the rest of the images will move down in order by one number.  (refer to pictures below)

Furthermore, double clicking on any image in the Presentation Editor will open it on the Image Workspace to be edited.

There are eight buttons on the very bottom of the Presentation Editor:

Copy: Clones the selected image on the Presentation Editor

Cut: Removes the selected image so that it does not show up in the presentation.  This action grays out the image and puts a red border around it.  Cutting an image does not affect the image in the group, only the copy on the presentation.

Restore: Selecting a cut image and clicking the restore button will un-cut the image and make it show up in the presentation once again.

Link: Link is used to compare one or more images in a presentation.  Clicking the link button while an image is selected will keep that image displayed at the same time as the next image of the presentation.  There is no limit to the number of images that can be linked.

Unlink: Removes the link of the last image linked in a chain of images.  For example, if there are 3 images linked, and the first of these images is selected, clicking on the unlink button will remove the last image from the chain of images, leaving the first 2 images still linked.

Data: Displays the catalog information of a selected image.

Save: Clicking on save will prompt you to name your presentation if this is your first time saving.  If not, it will just save your presentation to the image group being used.

Save and Close: Works just like the save button except it has the added action of closing the presentation after it has been saved.

Thumbnail Window:  The thumbnail window simply shows a thumbnail view of the selected image.  If zoomed into an image, the thumbnail window will show what portion is being zoomed by drawing a white rectangle around the area.  Clicking on the thumbnail window will refocus the zoomed area to where the mouse clicked the image.  (refer to pictures below)

Image Workspace Tool:  The Image Workspace Tool is used to manipulate images in the Image Workspace.  It allows the user to select an image, zoom in, zoom out, minimize, maximize, scroll, print, show links, create links, show measurements, or remove an image.  Below are some descriptions of these functions:
