PRINTING FROM LITC PUBLIC WINDOWS COMPUTERS

Public printers are located on Level 1, Level A, and Level B of the Library and Information Technology Center. The main printing facility is on Level B, which is also where the building's color laser printer is located. All publicly available computers are set to print by default to the printer on the floor they are located, and all have the option of printing to the printers on Level B.

When you are ready to print, click Print under the File menu.  The following screen should appear.

Printing should be set to print on both sides by default, but to double check or make changes, click Preferences from the screen above. Depending on the printer you selected, you will have one of the following scenarios:

Scenario 1.

If you wish to print on both sides, click Flip on Long Edge under Layout, and then click OK on this screen and the next screen. (If you want single-sided printing, click None.)

Scenario 2.

If you wish to print on both sides, click On (or Off to print single-sided) under Print on Backside on the Advanced tab, and then click the Finishing tab to see the screen below.

Check the Print on Both Sides for double-sided printing, or uncheck for single-printing. and then click OK on this screen and the next screen.

NOTE Printing fees: Each semester you receive $25.00 dollars of free "Printing Dollars". After the Printing Dollars are depleted, print jobs will then be taken out of your "Bantam Bucks" account. Printing costs $0.14 per sheet printed. So 2 pages printed Simplex (one-sided) would be $0.28. The same 2 page job would cost $0.14 printed Duplex (double-sided).  Color printing is $1.00 a page. Bantam bucks can be added at recharge stations located around campus or via the web at http://tcommerce.trincoll.edu.

You will then be prompted to enter in your name to identify your specific print job/s on the print station.

After you enter your name, click OK

You are now ready to go to the designated print stations.

NOTE: You have 2 hours to pick up your print job in LITC. After 2 hours your print job is deleted from the print queue.

The following is the screen that appears on the print station.

Swipe Trinity ID card into the card reader located next to the print station.  The following screen should appear.

From the screen above, you are free to release print jobs.  You can organize jobs by clicking on Job Name or Owner.  Then select those jobs you want to print, and click Print

NOTE:  If you leave the screen above idle for 10 seconds, you will have to re-swipe your Trinity ID cards.

If you have any questions or problems, please call x2007 or stop by the Student Help Desk on Level B of LITC.
