Computer Consultant
As a Help Desk Computing Consultant, you assist clients with their computer related problems as well as enter requests for the Facilities department. A client can be anyone affiliated with the College who uses the computing facilities in any of the computer labs, dormitories or offices as well as alumni and guests visiting the LITC. You must be willing to try to explain and solve various problems to clients. Communication skills and a good disposition are valuable, if not essential assets. You are expected to be familiar with the software supported by the Computing Center. Although this does not mean knowing everything, it does mean that you must be familiar enough with an application and available resources to be able to troubleshoot the problem. Finally, you must be willing and motivated to spend the necessary time to seek out and learn the information needed to solve clients' problems.
