9:00-9:50 Introduction to PowerPoint
This workshop will cover the
basics in creating presentations with PowerPoint, as well as offering
tips on effective slide design to avoid "death by PowerPoint." In
particular, this workshop will focus on viewing modes, formatting text,
incorporating multimedia and links, using templates and the Slide
Master.

Presentation Tips with PowerPoint
This workshop is designed for people
who have a basic knowledge of PowerPoint but are looking for tips on improving
their presentations. This workshop will provide suggestions for giving an
effective presentation, demonstrate the Presenter View which allows the
presenter to view their notes while the audience does not, display the various
ways slides and notes can be printed, and show participants how to use the Pen Tool which
provides the ability to write or draw on a slide.

Advanced PowerPoint
This workshop covers advanced topics in
PowerPoint, including: animations, slide transitions, action buttons, embedding
multimedia and designing a non-linear presentation. Attendees should already be
comfortable creating slide presentations in PowerPoint, or have attended the
earlier morning sessions.

Image Repair with Photoshop
This workshop will focus on the tools
available in Photoshop to repair and edit a flawed image. Attendees will work
step by step in turning an undesirable image into a masterpiece, gaining insight
for fixing their own digital images in the process.

Microsoft Publisher
Publisher is one of the most underused
applications in the Microsoft Office Suite, in spite of it being an easy-to-use
desktop publishing program. It can integrate text and graphics in a variety of
creative ways. This workshop will discuss the basic elements of graphic design
and the mechanics of setting up a one-page handbill/poster and a tri-panel
pamphlet. Some examples of presentation projects for students will also be
displayed.
