Changing the Background Color

Frontpage makes it easy to change various colors on your web page: the background color, the text color, and the colors in which hyperlinks appear.

To work with your web page's background:

  1. From the Menu Bar, select File.
  2. Go down to Page Properties.

  3. Release the mouse button. The following screen is displayed:

  4. To work with your page's background, click once on Background. (1)
  5. To select a background color, place the cursor on the arrow to the right side of the box labeled "Background." (2)
  6. A list of colors will appear. Select the color you want.
  7. Release the mouse button.
  8. Click OK.

Your page will be redisplayed, using the background color you've selected.

Changing the Default Text Color

FrontPage normally displays text in black. If you change the background color, black text might not be readable. To change the default color for text on the page you are currently working with:

  1. To work with your page's background, click once on Background. (1)
  2. To select a background color, place the cursor on the arrow to the right side of the box labeled "Text." (3)
  3. A list of colors will appear. Select the color you want.
  4. Release the mouse button.
  5. Click OK.

Your page will be redisplayed. Any text for which you have not specifically selected a color will be changed to the new text color you've selected.

Changing Hyperlink Colors

You can use the arrows marked by number 4 above to change the colors in which hyperlinks appear on your web page. This is generally not a good idea, as people are familiar with the standard colors and changing them might confuse your users.
