RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATIONS Information technology is an integral part of the learning process at Trinity. E-mail communications with professors and students, electronic paper submission, and research on the World Wide Web are just a few of the many ways technology is utilized. In order to take advantage of the College’s technology resources, you will need to do some planning for the com-puter you will purchase, or pay close attention to the hardware specifications of your equipment should you already own a computer. While any computer can be used to write papers, not all computers are capable of fully utilizing our network. Therefore, included on this Web page is a list of recommended specifications for when you purchase your computer. By meeting these specifications, your computer should last you four years without having the need to upgrade. If you already own a computer and it does not meet the recommended specifications, there is also a minimum requirements list for connecting your computer to our network. Because of the nature of information technology and its need for constant upgrade, we cannot support older computers that do not meet these minimum criteria. RECOMMENDED COMPUTER SPECIFICATIONS Use these guidelines when purchasing a new computer. Computers meeting these specifications should be sufficient for four years at Trinity without the need to upgrade. Please refer to http://www.trincoll.edu/depts/cc/StudentHelpDesk/Purchase before buying. You are encouraged to consider choosing a laptop over a desktop.
MINIMUM COMPUTER SPECIFICATIONS Computers meeting these configurations can be connected to the Trinity network but may not be able to use all of the software packages available.
