The Trinity College Engineering Program benefits greatly from its location in the state capital. The college is located near innovative technological and biomedical facilities and educational institutions that offer many engineering opportunities to students. Recently, engineering internships have been completed at companies such as Northeast Utilities, United Technologies Corporation, Hartford Hospital, the Institute for Living, Pfizer, Mira Systems, Savage Engineering Inc. and the UCONN Medical School.

The Trinity Engineering Advisory Council, TEAC, which includes distinguished alumni and other supporters, conducts annual conferences that address issues of primary concern to students, including current technological trends, application to graduate school, and career directions. TEAC sponsors a program that finds an internship for every engineering student during the summer before his or her senior year.

The Trinity Engineering Department also provides the opportunity to join many professional societies. Affiliations with student chapters of such national professional organizations such as American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) expose students to issues and dialogues in the profession in their field of interest. These organizations also provide great networking pathways for both jobs and internships.
