  Event Services

Advance notice is required for events scheduled in venues such as the Washington Room and the Vernon Social Center, and events necessitating a technician. Note that scheduling service with Media Technology Services does not imply that a room has been reserved. A venue must be booked with the Calendar Office (x2015) and/or Student Services, then the sponsor must contact Media Technology Services. See our Requesting Service page for an outline of the information we need from event sponsors.  Consultation on audio visual needs for special events and conferences is available, with at least three weeks advance notice suggested for such large-scale events. It is the sponsor's responsibility to acquire all performance riders, stage plots and scheduling information. Certain events may require the use of commercial vendors, which Media Technology Services can contact for, or refer an organization to, if necessary.  An account number or payment arrangements are necessary for booking audio visual services. The Fees page provides further information on Media Technology Services charges.

Small events can also be labor and equipment intensive. Sponsors should communicate with presenters, lecturers and performers at an early date to determine the level of support they will require.

Advance planning helps secure a successful event. Ask questions regarding
Media Technology Services' support capabilities well in advance. Please contact the department for more information.
