Media Technology Services maintain a variety of audio visual
equipment used in classrooms across campus. All equipment is
regularly inspected by professional staff and should be in good
working order. Users should contact
Media Technology Services
immediately with any problems or questions. Classroom support is a
department priority. Every effort will be made to provide
immediate support and problem solving in classrooms.
If additional equipment is needed in a classroom, please contact
Media Technology Services. Please do not move overhead
projectors, monitors, etc. from one class to another. Equipment
can be provided on a temporary basis if needed.
In certain classrooms, audio visual equipment is installed in a
locked cabinet or closet. Contact
Media Technology Services to
sign out a key.
The equipment listed below is partial, and presented for
informational purposes. Classrooms vary in the type of equipment
installed. For a list of equipment available in a specific
classroom, see the Classroom Technology Directory.

Overhead
Projector
Overhead projectors for transparencies are available in
nearly all classroom spaces on campus. The few exceptions
are due to a particular room's space restrictions.
Instructors who find themselves in a teaching space without
an overhead may request one by contacting
Media Technology Services.
***Please note: The term "overhead projector"
DOES NOT refer to an LCD or computer projector. An
overhead only projects transparencies, and cannot be used
with a computer. |

VCR/DVD
& Monitor
Most classrooms on campus have a video and DVD playback
system available. In such cases, faculty, teaching
assistants, or students need only obtain the appropriate
video and then show the tape to a class or group. Video
playback via portable units may be scheduled for other
classrooms without installed equipment by contacting
Media Technology Services at least one week in
advance.
Note: DVD Players will play audio Compact Discs as well as
DVDs. |

 |
35mm
Slide Projector
35mm slide projectors are still a popular resource for
displaying photographs or information. Projectors are
available for any classroom by contacting
Media Technology Services. |
|
 |
LCD
Projector
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) projectors are generally used
in classroom installations in conjunction with computers
and VCR/DVD players. A limited number or portable units
are also available for spaces without installed equipment.
A technician is necessary for portable setups, meaning
this equipment must be booked a minimum or one week in
advance. |
|
 |
Laserdisc
Player
Although Laserdiscs are no longer a popular consumer
format, the Trinity College library holds a number of
films in this form. A limited number of classrooms have a
Laserdisc player as part of the installed audio visual
equipment. Laserdisc playback for other classrooms may be
scheduled by contacting
Media Technology Services at
least one week in advance.
Note: Laser Disc Players will play audio Compact Discs as
well as Laser Discs. |
|
 |
16mm
Projector
16mm film projection may be scheduled for a classroom by
contacting
Media Technology Services a minimum of one
week in advance. McCook Auditorium is the best classroom
venue for 16mm screening. A technician is necessary for
setup and operation, making advance booking
mandatory. |
