INTRAMURAL FOOTBALL

RULES

 

Good sportsmanship is a requirement of all participants. Players and coaches are to conduct themselves property at all times. The Intramural Coordinator reserves the right to suspend or disqualify individuals or a group for unsportsmanlike conduct. Unsportsmanlike actions before, during and/or after a contest will not be tolerated and anyone who tries them will face swift disciplinary actions. The team captain assumes full responsibility for the conduct of the team and spectators. There will be no alcohol consumed before or during the game. Those who do, will be suspended and the team will forfeit the game.

Unsportsmanlike conduct includes actions, which are unbecoming to an ethical, fair, or honorable individual. It consists of acts of deceit, disrespect, fighting, vulgarity, taunting, or the intentional injuring of another player. The Intramural Department disapproves of any form of taunting which is intended or designed to embarrass, ridicule or demean others under any circumstances.

Any player or team that is suspended from an intramural competition must meet with the Intramural Coordinator before they may resume any other intramural activities. If a player or team is suspended from two activities, they will not be allowed to participate in any other intramural programs, for the rest of the year.

1. You must start with at least 6 players. Any less and you forfeit. The game is played 7 on 7

2. Only roster players may play. If an illegal player is used, you will forfeit that game.

3. Two forfeits and your team is disqualified from further play.

4. If a player is ejected from the game, they must miss the next game. Two ejections and you are disqualified from further competition.

5. NCAA football rules apply to all games. Overtime is played like NCAA Div 1 games.

The game will be 2/20 minute halves. (Running time) The last minute of the game will be stop time. 3 time outs per game.

You get 4 downs to get to the next line for a first down.

4 flags per team. 3 players without flag but you can have more with out flags. If a player receives or recovers the football and does not have flags he is down where he gets the ball. All quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, and punters must have flags or they are down when they receive the snap. No one without a flag my go out for a pass.

kick off is live after it crosses the center line.  it must either touch the ground or a player to be live.  A kick that goes out of bounds is advanced 15 yards from where it went out of bounds.  Off sides on a kick off, the ball is given to the receiving team 5 yards from the kick line.  

7. There will be a 5-minute grace period before a game is called a forfeit.

8. Winning team is responsible for calling or emailing in the score to me, at Ext. 4262 or walter.adamy@trincoll.edu.

If you don’t call the score in, within 24 hours, it goes a loss for both teams.

9. Top teams make the playoffs.
