A Note From President Jones

To the Trinity Community:

Welcome to Trinity College’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) web site. This site was designed by students to help you locate someone at Trinity to talk to in confidence if you are a victim of sexual assault, rape, an incident of dating, relationship violence, or stalking.

We at Trinity College take these issues very seriously. It is a violation of Trinity policy and federal and state law to commit an act of sexual misconduct, violence or stalking.  Students at Trinity College have been expelled when found guilty of sexual assault.

We urge you to talk to someone if one of these incidents should happen to you.  It is up to you how to proceed. On the web site is a list of options open to you. You can talk to someone in confidence and report anonymously, report informally and meet with a SART member or Dean of Students who will outline your options, or report formally, and ask for an investigation into the event. But the course of action is up to you. The school will not call the police or your parents without your permission. We want to help you, and we want to prevent further crimes. We can only do this if you come forward.

We have excellent resources on campus to help you, and to address the incident.  I encourage you to use these resources if needed. We want to help you, and we want to prevent further crimes. We can only do this if you come forward.

Regards, Jimmy F. Jones
