Japanese Vendors: Technos International Week, Japan 2008
A Photo Perspective by Sophia Alyssa Simpson `10
Technos International Week is an event organized by Technos International College of Japan. Its goal is to promote international exchange and understanding between the international guests and the members of the host institution, as well as to offer the guest group the opportunity to experience and appreciate Japanese life and culture.  Trinity College is one of 10 colleges and universities from around the world to participate. Alyssa was selected to represent Trinity.

George Ostertag Nature Photography

George Ostertag is a professional freelance photographer living in Oregon and specializing in topics of nature, travel and outdoor recreation. A native of New Britain, Connecticut, his love for the outdoors developed when he was a young child, exploring the forests and wetlands of the city`s park system.  He has been the featured exhibitor in numerous galleries and has had his work published in book, magazine, calendar, postcard and ad mediums. He is the sole photographer for more than a dozen outdoor guidebooks which he co-authored. This exhibit of his framed photographs includes images of waterfalls, wildflowers, sunsets and national landmarks, with selections across the country.

Phnom Penh river Life
An exhibition of photographs taken in 2008 by students enrolled in Cambodia in Context
, a summer study abroad program of Trinity College
These photographs examine the central role that the Tonle Sap river system plays in the daily life of Phnom Penh,
capital city of the Kingdom of Cambodia. 
The Cambodia in Context program and this exhibition are sponsored by the O’Neill Asia Cum Laude Endowment. The exhibition is also sponsored by the Studio Arts Program and the Special Events & Calendar Office. Cambodia in Context
is administered through the Office of International Programs.

An exhibition of amazing dance photography by Zoe Marcerollo, and the Japanese photographer Sachiko Nagata. Chinese Calligraphy by Trinity Faculty Lorelei Chang and her twin sister, Mai Nakanishi from Japan.

Science and Asthma: Peruvian Perspectives

This photo exhibit developed from Alison Draper`s first year program last year on asthma and its global implications.  At the end of the semester, students traveled there to learn about it first-hand.

Portraits from India and Nepal

Helena Stein works as an art teacher at the Montessori Magnet School in Hartford.  The last two summers she volunteered at Loreto School in Kolkata working with former "street children." There are 300 girls ages 2-8 living in the school.  She will give a short gallery talk about her experiences volunteering in Kolkata, working very closely with young volunteers, many of them from EuropeThis year she visited Nepal and Katmandu and her exhibit features her photographs of people in India and Nepal.

Invisible Women: The Femicide in Juárez

Amnesty International traveling exhibit co-sponsored by the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Program, the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Program, the Modern Languages & Literature program, and PRESHCO

This exhibit commemorates International Human Rights Day on December 10.

"Talking Paintings"
This is an interactive art exhibit created by the women at York Correctional Institution. The artwork considers the impact of HIV/AIDS on the women and those around them. Each panel contains a recorded artists statement.
