West End String Quartet

The West End String Quartet (WESQ) was formed in 2005 by graduates of The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. Current members are Jessica Meyer and Sarah Washburn, violins; John Biatowas, viola; and Carlynn Savott, cello.

WESQ brings uncommon and contemporary repertoire to its concerts, pairing these with traditional works. The musicians speak to their audiences about new and unfamiliar pieces, giving personal perspectives in their introductions, so that audiences can anticipate what they will hear.

The program features a new work by composer and newly appointed Trinity Assistant Professor of Music Dan Roman.

The evening's repertoire:

Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) - Introduccion y Muerte del Angel (arr. E. Archer)

Rebecca Clark (1886-1979) - Adagio

Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) - Quartet in d minor Op. 76, No. 2 ("Quinten")

Dan Roman (b. 1974) - Sonora Complexidad

Rebecca Clarke - Comodo e amabile

Astor Piazzolla - Four, for Tango

Hamlin Hall. Free admission.
