Halloween: Trick-or-Treating, Scary Movies, and HAUNTED HOUSES!! For the past 7 years, the Trinity Chemical Society has hosted a Haunted House as part of Halloween on Vernon at Trinity College. The last stop of the program, the haunted house ensures that the local community gets a good scare before going home for the evening. This year's theme, the Reaper's Rest Stop was bone chilling indeed. We invite you to peruse the photos, take in the atmosphere, and imagine doing this for real!!!!!I

Building the "Reaper's Rest Stop"

The entire wall must be covered in black. Some high flying acrobatics are involved to accomplish this feat. If you are going to rest, maybe you can do so under a gravestone, being set in place here. Although the final effects are quite scary, setting up can by humorous.

Of course, a good spider web always adds to the ambiance. After much hard work (8:00 AM to noon), the Reaper's Rest Stop is almost ready. Any room not decorated was used for prep and set-up.

After much hard work, the Rest Stop is complete. Residents of the Reaper's Rest Stop must be attired properly. Black was the color of the day. A group of "Welcoming Folk" pose for the camera before events begin.

Traveling through the Reaper's Rest Stop

Traveler's first see this item sticking out of the wall. As they near, they are terrified to find this item is ALIVE, and hungry. Backing further away only makes the experience more scary.

Here the guide suggests pathways through the rest stop, while fighting off ghouls. Although not as scary with the lights on, this ghoul is truly frightening in the dark. Not all scary things are fully ghoulish, here a hand is quite scary.

For those who get lost, the Grim Reaper points the way. For those who do not move, the Grim Reaper advances. This is a site that gets frozen feet scurrying down the pathway.

Unfortunately, the Reaper has pointed travelers into the Ghoul's cemetery. For those not quick enough, the Ghoul has a chance to escape the grave! And carry "guests" back to the depths below.

The "Southern Slicer" is always happy to involve others in his work. His work entails using victims' body parts to put together a monster. THIS MONSTER HAS COME TO LIFE!!!!

Those victims lucky enough to escape the Southern Slicer, run into a Witch, but this Witch is all smiles, and gives out candy. Even Ghouls come out to get candy on occasion. A four legged friend also met participants of the Haunted House.

And then it was Done

After all the "fun", the Reaper's Rest Stop had to be transformed back into a Chemistry building. Here the webbing is removed. Mid way through the process, only a lonely foot remains to greet hallway wanderers. This group was not quite finished having fun, and playing with the fog machine.

This year's "Reapers Rest Stop" was, once again, a top attraction, with plenty of screams, scares, and candy! Great Job TCS!!
